Squier 40th Anniversary Release
In 1982 Fender released the Squier instrument range to accommodate the demand for a more affordable instrument. This is the first time Fender released a lower priced guitar using the Stratocaster and Telecaster shape.
Production moved from America to Japan due to cost of manufacturing and competition of lower priced models coming out of Japan. Overtime different models have been released and in all body shapes. Manufacturing has since moved to other countries including China, Indonesia and Korea.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the first release. Fender has released 2 series for this occasion: The Gold Edition and The Vintage Edition.
The Gold Edition features: Gold plated hardware, Anodized aluminium pickguard, bound fingerboard, pearloid block inlays, gloss finish and engraved anniversary neck plate. Along with a comfortable slim “C” neck, 6 saddle synchronized tremolo bridge for guitar and 4-saddle bridge with barrel saddles for bass, vintage style machine heads and Fender Designed pickups with alnico 5 magnets.
You have some great colour options within this series including: Ruby Red Metallic, Sienna sunburst, Lake Placid Blue, Olympic White, Black and Sherwood Green.
The Vintage Edition has some of the same features as the Gold Edition that include an anodized aluminum scratchplate, slim “C” neck, 6 saddle synchronized tremolo bridge, Fender Designed pickups with alnico 5 magnets gold anniversary neckplate, vintage style machine heads.
